• Manuel finished second in the 1942 National Intercollegiate Championship.
• He graduated from Northwestern University in 1947 with a degree in Business Administration.
• He finished in 3rd place at the Tucson Open in 1950 and 2nd place at the Lakewood Open in 1951 on the PGA Tour.
• He was named the Head Golf Professional at Milwaukee Country Club in 1951.
• He was a five-time Wisconsin State Open Champion.
• He finished in 17th place in the 1963 PGA Championship.
• He won the 1973 National Open Seniors Classic.
• He tied for 1st place in the National PGA Senior Championship in 1978 and lost in a playoff.
• He was the very first recipient of the National PGA
• Teacher of the Year Award in 1986.
• He was inducted into the World Golf Teachers Hall of Fame in 2005.
• He was inducted into the PGA of America Hall of Fame in 2006.
• Manuel's notable students have included Carol Mann, Martha Nause, Sheri Steinhauer and Tommy Aaron.
